It has been a busy six weeks, after leaving Red in Compton LA, we flew home and travelled the length and breadth of the UK, sleeping in twenty different beds and boosting the national rail coffers. We returned to the UK to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday and brother in law Patrick's wedding to Julie.

But it was also great to sit in a cosy pub in St Albans on a Saturday afternoon watching the Rugby autumn internationals whilst downing a pint or two of English Ale. Catching up with my NY Bestie and her beautiful baby Luisa. meeting up with my old squadron friends at Remembrance Day.

Eating food that we can't cook on the road, whether due to lack of equipment or ingredients, a particular favourite is the traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings, so we managed to get quite few of those in as well as English Breakfast, ham egg and chips, fish and chips, curry and a cheeky kebab! Needless to say, the pounds we had lost on the road soon returned!

But most importantly it was seeing friends and family, catching up with them and hearing all their news and boring them with our tales. So here's a huge THANK YOU to everyone who gave us a bed for the night, fed us and watered us. We would love to return the hospitality, so come on down to Central America!

We are now reunited with Red and in Joshua Tree National Park California, staying for a few days to give our bodies a chance to recover from the excesses of the last month.

Next Stop Mexico!

A TRIPTOMANIAC has a mental disorder that compels them to travel. Unlike a normal traveller, who will journey because they want or need to, a triptomaniac does it for the sheer fun and thrill.
